Otokar Participates in FIAA 2026  with Its Innovative Buses

Continuing its steady growth in Europe, Otokar participated in FIAA 2026 in Madrid, Spain, together with its Spanish dealer Somauto. Otokar is showcasing five vehicles at the exhibition: e-TERRITO, e-KENT, Autonomous e-CENTRO, NAVIGO Mega and ULYSO.

Otokar, a member of the Koç Group, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, made a strong presence at FIAA 2026, held at IFEMA MADRID from September 22 to 24. Participating in the 16th edition of FIAA, the largest bus and coach exhibition in Spain and Portugal, together with its dealer Somauto, Otokar is welcoming visitors at Stand 9C05 in Hall 9.

Otokar is showcasing five models representing its broad passenger transportation product range. The vehicles on display include the all-electric e-TERRITO developed for intercity transportation, the zero-emission e-KENT city bus, the Level 4 Autonomous e-CENTRO,as well as tourism buses NAVIGO Mega and ULYSO.

“WE CONTINUE TO GROW IN EUROPE”

At a press conference held as part of FIAA 2026, Otokar executives shared the company’s growth plans in Europe and its objectives for the Spanish market. Berkan Sağlam, Head of International Sales at Otokar, said: “FIAA is one of the key meeting points where we come together with our customers and industry representatives in Europe. Today, more than 66,000 Otokar buses are in service in more than 60 countries. In Madrid, we are showcasing our broad product range, from electric city and intercity buses to autonomous driving technology. Together with Somauto, our dealer in Spain for the past 17 years, we continue to expand our presence in Europe while providing efficient and reliable solutions for different operating requirements.”

“WE HAVE BUILT OUR GROWTH ON THREE KEY PILLARS”

Sharing the company’s strategic objectives at the press conference, Umberto Mauri, Co-Director of Otokar Italia, said: “At Otokar, we are progressing toward three key objectives. Our first objective is to further develop our manufacturing facility in Sakarya into a modern and integrated bus manufacturing campus. Thanks to our strong manufacturing infrastructure, engineering expertise and testing capabilities, we produce not only our own brand’s buses but also for two global brand. Our second objective is to make our growth in international markets, particularly in Europe, sustainable. Spain is one of our most important markets in Europe. Our third objective is to further develop our modern and electric product portfolio. We have a broad product range covering diesel and alternative-fuel vehicles. We have developed electric versions of most of our product families and continue our work in this area in line with the expectations of our customers and operators. We are building our steady growth in Europe on this strong product and manufacturing infrastructure.”

“OUR VEHICLE PARK CONTINUES TO GROW IN SPAIN”

Mery Romero Escalona, Head of Somauto, highlighted the company’s long-standing partnership with Otokar and its operations in Spain: “This year, Somauto is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the industry. Through our 17-year partnership with Otokar, we have reached a total of 1200 plus Otokar vehicles across Spain. In parallel with our growing vehicle park, we have recently increased our investments in after-sales services and spare parts. It is particularly valuable for us to see Otokar’s Autonomous e-CENTRO continuing to carry passengers at Mercamadrid in Madrid, as it demonstrates Otokar’s advanced technology capabilities.” 

OTOKAR VEHICLES ON DISPLAY AT FIAA 2026

e-TERRITO: Specifically developed for intercity passenger transportation, shuttle services and school transportation, 100 percent electric e-TERRITO offers zero-emission transportation with seating capacity for up to 63 passengers. The vehicle stands out with its 12 and 13-meter length options, high passenger capacity, and luggage compartments, as well as its comfort and functionality. The vehicle offers high performance with an optimal range. 

e-KENT: Otokar’s pioneering model for zero-emission urban public transportation, e-KENT is developed to meet user expectations. With spacious driver and passenger areas prioritizing public transportation needs, the vehicle stands out for its cutting-edge technology and efficiency. Offering quieter city traffic, low operating costs, and zero emissions, the e-Kent aims to become the top choice for public transportation. Having different length options, the vehicle offers up to 102 passenger capacity. 

Autonomous e-CENTRO: Equipped with Level 4 autonomous driving technology, the vehicle reflects Otokar’s engineering capabilities in autonomous driving technologies. All software development, testing, and implementation were carried out entirely in-house by Otokar’s skilled and dedicated teams. This enables a rapid response to on-site needs. Designed to comply with traffic regulations, the vehicle accurately identifies its location and delivers uninterrupted service throughout the day, in different weather conditions. It precisely approaches designated stops, ensuring smooth boarding and disembarkation for passengers.
