Otokar Commissions 10 MW Solar Power Plant in Malatya
Otokar has commissioned a 10 MW Solar Power Plant (SPP) in Malatya as part of its accelerating sustainability investments. The facility will generate 19 Milion kWh of electricity annually, meeting approximately 60% of the factory's electricity needs.

Otokar, a part of Koç Group which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has taken another significant step in its sustainability and energy efficiency strategy. The company has completed the installation of the 10 MW Solar Power Plant planned for Malatya and brought the facility into operation.

The facility, which is equipped with approximately 19,000 solar panels, uses two 6 MVA transformers and 34 inverters. With the plant set to generate 19 Million kWh of electricity annually, Otokar will meet approximately 60% of its factory’s total electricity need with renewable and clean energy.

"WE ARE DIRECTING OUR ENGINEERING STRENGTH TOWARD NATURE"

Commenting on the project, which has been realized within the framework of the company's sustainability vision, Otokar CEO Aykut Özüner said: "For more than 60 years, we have been shaping the future of transportation technology through the vehicles we design and produce. Today, we are fulfilling our responsibility to nature and future generations not only through our vehicles but also through our production processes. The 10 MW solar power plant we have commissioned in Malatya represents an important step toward our goal of reducing the carbon footprint of our production. Meeting 60% of our factory's electricity needs from renewable sources demonstrates the importance we place on environmental sustainability. We will continue to use our engineering strength not only in our products but also to support the green transformation at every stage of our operations."
