Otokar came to the forefront with its new vehicles at FIAA 2022
Otokar, the leader of the Turkish bus market for 14 years, showcased models from its broad bus range, at FIAA 2022, on 18-21 October, in Madrid, Spain. During the exhibition, Otokar drew attention especially with its new buses e-CENTRO, KENT Mild Hybrid and NAVIGO T 9.2 mt.
 
Turkey’s pioneer bus brand Otokar showcased models from its broad bus range, at FIAA 2022, on 18-21 October, in Madrid, Spain. In the four day event in Madrid, Otokar made an appearance with six different bus models from its broad range. The 6mt bus e-CENTRO, the 12mt eco-friendly bus KENT Mild Hybrid and new 9.2 mt tourism bus NAVIGO T became the highlights of the exhibition.
 
Pointing out Otokar’s strong existence in Europe Otokar International Sales & Marketing Manager, Berkan Sağlam said “Otokar provides comfortable and safe travel for millions of passengers with tens of thousands of buses operating in more than 50 countries across the world and primarily in Europe. Following the launch of our electric bus family from 6mt to 18.75 mt, here in FIAA we showcased our new hybrid bus KENT Mild Hybrid for the first time. Reducing emission rates are one of the biggest priorities in Europe lately. In this context, we do believe that Otokar will write a new success story with its eco-friendly buses.”
 
Underlining the 14 years of harmonious cooperation with Otokar, President of Otokar’s Spanish Distributor Somauto, Antonio Bautista said: “Having a long-term cooperation based on mutual belief and trust with Otokar, always gives us motivation to do our best. In Spanish market our sales in city and intercity buses increased in the last two years, in addition to our high sales level in Otokar tourism buses. A compact electric bus: e-CENTRO
With its compact size, e-CENTRO offers an environment-friendly and accessible solution for historical districts and touristic areas of cities with narrow streets, and zero emission zones.
 
e-CENTRO is available in 6.6 meters. Its compact dimension provides high maneuverability. With an electric motor with a maximum power of 200 kW and a maximum torque of 1200 Nm, the 6.6mt e-CENTRO does not compromise performance even on the steepest hills. The bus stands out with its lightness and lower operating costs, providing reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and better range for public transport operators. The 110 kW Li-ion NMC batteries of e-Centro can be fully charged in as short as 1.5 hours, offering a range of 200 km on a single charge. Onboard charging is also available. Furthermore, the regenerative braking feature enables up to 25 percent energy recovery from braking and deceleration in urban traffic.
 
Positioning the batteries under the floor creates wide and spacious interior and enables the bus to carry up to 32 passengers. Featuring a low-floor design, e-CENTRO delivers comfortable rides for all passengers, including people with disabilities or those with strollers.
 
New eco-friendly bus: KENT Mild Hybrid
Otokar’s new 12 mt eco-friendly bus KENT Mild Hybrid offers less fuel consumption and reduced emissions. With its 7 forward gear transmission and start-stop technology KENT Mild Hybrid provides an efficient use and low operating costs for the operators. The electric recuperation during braking enables the vehicle recover energy resulting low fuel consumption. The vehicle also contributes efficient energy management.
 
New 9.2 mt tourism bus: NAVIGO T
Otokar’s new 9.2 mt tourism bus NAVIGO T stands out with its high passenger and luggage capacity. Having a 210 HP engine, the bus offers 39+1+1 seating capacity. NAVIGO T also draws attention with its new and dynamic look which shows Otokar’s modern design approach.
